In view of the expected sea level rise, and therefore to most severe high-tide conditions and storm surge, low-lying coastal communities are exposed to
an increasing flooding hazard.
Additional hazard arises from reduced effectiveness of gravity-based drainage systems to drain rainwater during heavy rain events.
As a conclusion, and increasing rate of flooding events is expected.
It is important that the community is:
- Informed on the risks
- Promptly alerted in case of risks
